The mission of Africa Watoto Friends of Grandsons is to promote and inspire individuals and groups through projects that help save street children lives, bring hope and restore dignity. We work with Grandsons of Abraham Street Children Rescue Center in Mombasa offering them help in projects, education, child care, sponshorship and volunteering.
Child Protection policy

Africa Watoto Friends of Grandsons acts on behalf of Grandson of Abraham Street Children rescue centre in Kenya and is fully committed to protecting the security, privacy, and dignity of the children who take part in our child sponsorship programmes. All the material and photos of the website has the permission of Grandsons of Abraham.
We recognise that:
- the welfare of the child is paramount
- all children, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse
- working in partnership with children, their parents, their carers, agencies is essential in promoting childrens’ welfare
The purspose of the child sponsorship policy:
Children and their families must be assured that Africa Watoto is protecting the integrity of information, including photographs, that is share about them with the public.
Downloading, copying or reusing any of the photos or other information on this website without permission from Africa Watoto is strictly forbidden. Child profiles are on the website for the purpose of conveying information about the sponsorship relationship with the potential sponsor and are not for distribution.
Correspondence between sponsors and sponsored children comes via Africa Watoto rather that direct. Communications from sponsors are screened to intercept inappropriate written or visual material that raises child protection concerns.
This policy applies to all staff, including senior managers and the board of trustees, paid staff, volunteers and sessional workers, agency staff, students or anyone working on behalf of Grandsons of Abraham.
We will seek to safeguard children by:
• Valuing them, listening to and respecting them
• Potraying the life situation of the children with respect, accuracy and dignity
• Sharing information about concerns with agencies who need to know and involving children and parents appropriately.
We are also commited to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
